Attached please find the new Town of Between business license ordinance that was adopted by the council at its August 10th meeting.
NOTICE -Town of Between Municipal Election
Qualifying for positions on the Town of Between town government begins on Monday August 16th and ends on Friday August 20th. There are two (2) four year council member positions and one (1) two year term council member position available. The position of mayor is also up for reelection.Qualification packages can be picked up at either Mayor Post’s residence at 3020 Sweetwater Trail or Vice Mayor Satterwhite’s residence at 3028 Sweetwater Trail. Both locations are in the Saint Martin Estates Subdivision.
The completed packages, including the qualifying fee, must be returned to the above location(s) no later than Friday August 20th at 4:30 p.m. Packages received after this date/time will not be accepted.

Voter Registration – November 2, 2021 Municipal Election
If you have not yet registered to vote in the upcoming November election, I encourage you to do so. In Walton County you can register at the Walton County Elections Office located at 1110 E. Spring Street, Suite 100 in Monroe, GA.You can also register online at sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR. Or at any county library.
The registration deadline is the fifth Monday prior to the election. (If Monday is a holiday, the deadline moves to the next day). The same deadline applies to changing your name and/or address prior to the election.
The Town of Between will be holding elections on November 2, 2021 at the Praise Center located at 1857 Highway 78, Monroe, GA. There will be two (2) open council members and one (1) incumbent council member positions on the ballot. In addition, the Mayor position will also be on the ballot.
I encourage every registered voter in theTown of Between to get out and vote for the candidate of your choice for these important positions.

New Hope Church Paving Project
After nearly a decade, the section of New Hope Church Road that lies within the town limits of Between, has been resurfaced. The Town of Between in conjunction with the Walton County Public Works Department, completed the project on Thursday July 22nd in a matter of only six hours. This limited the inconvenience to travelers that routinely utilized this roadway. The cost of this work, which was funded with a state LMIG grant and Town of Between general fund resources, costs $32,184.00.
NOTICE – North New Hope Church Road Resurfacing
The resurfacing of North New Hope Church Road is scheduled to begin in the morning of Thursday, July 22nd. The paving will begin at US 78 and extend to Garrett Road. Barring any unforeseen delays, the work will be completed the same day.The Between Town Council approved the expenditure of $32,184.00 at its July 13th meeting for the work. The funding is coming from a state LMIG grant and general operating fund sources.
You may experience some delays while the work is being done.
Council Member Barry Turner

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Council Member Barry Turner. Turner died early this date at Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe where he was admitted on Saturday for an existing condition. Turner was elected to town council in July of 2020 in a special election. Council Member Turner was in charge of special projects including responsibility for having our new "Welcome to Between" signs installed on US 78. He had just completed year one of his four year term. Please remember his family and friends at this very solemn time.
