New Town Hall

The Town of Between received the Quitclaim Deed from Walton County for the property where the new town hall will be located. The property is located on Heritage Parkway across the street from the Walton County Fire Service Headquarters. Meetings with the architect have been scheduled for this month. If things go as planned, construction should begin in the spring. The project is funded from 2013 SPLOST funds.

New Town Limit Signs

Alcovy Sign Company finished construction and installation of the "Welcome to Between" signs that town council approved late last year. The signs have been installed on eastbound and westbound US 78 at the town limits. The timeframe for getting the sign project completed was delayed waiting on the Georgia Department of Transportation to issue right of way permits. Council member Barry Turner coordinated the project for the town.

New Town Hall Property Acquisition

At its December meeting, the Walton County Board of Commissioners finalized the donation of property to the Town of Between for the construction of a new town hall. The one acre site is on Heritage Parkway across from the Walton County Fire Headquarters and the State of Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles testing facility. The mayor and council are grateful for this donation and want to thank former Chairman Kevin Little for his work in obtaining this property.
