Governor Kemp has just issued a State of Emergency for the entire state of Georgia for the period of Thursday September 25th until Friday September 26, 2024. The storm is likely to generate high winds, heavy rains and flooding for those in its path. This includes the Town of Between and Walton County. GEMA Officials encourage you to prepare now for periods of heavy rain, high winds and power outages. Tune to your local weather channel for further updates and emergency bulletins.

Between Pickleball Courts
The Walton County Board of Commissioners, at its September 10th meeting, approved $489,000 for the construction of 8 additional pickleball courts, additional parking spaces and the installation of lighting for 12 courts. With these additions, the splash pad, and fresbee golf Ayer’s Park will be a great asset for the Town of Between.

Nunnally Farm Road Repaving Project
The repaving and striping of Nunnally Farm has been completed. This project was funded with state LMIG funds and 2019 SPLOST funds. The total cost was $42,836.00 which was over $7,000.00 less then the estimate received. We want to thank Public Works Director John Alman and his crews for completing this project in only two days.

Nunnally Farm Road Resurfacing
The Town of Between in conjunction with Walton County Public Works Department will begin resurfacing Nunnally Farm Road on Monday July 22, 2024. Preparation work will take place this week. Please be aware that at times the road maybe blocked or reduced to one lane during the day.This is a project funded by an LMAG grant and SPLOST funds.
